These are decorative chess sets
to play chess games with.
Real fighting sets for serious chess battles. The chess pieces
are strong and meant to be used to play chess with.
They all look great displayed in a cabinet, but it's a shame to
leave one there.
The black half of each chess set is made to look like bronze, while the white pieces look like ivory.
The beautifully detailed chess pieces are hand moulded and finished from the finest ground marble and resin, to the highest standards possible. Marble, by itself is very soft, while resin by itself is very brittle, but if you combine the two together, properly, you end up with something strong and durable. These sets are meant to be played with.
The top coat of each chess piece is a hard wearing polish, so a quick buff over with a good quality spray polish (first sprayed on to a soft cloth) will keep them looking their best.
However as we actually manufacture these sets (and have done since 1986), should a piece get damaged, replacement pieces can be made to order (we do know of one that was eaten by a dog and for some reason, no one wanted to use it after that).
You have a choice of three different
chess sets Camelot, Roman, Viking
and a larger Fantasy
set. The first three are all the same size, the kings being approximately
5 inches tall and price is £80 per set, the difference is
in the style of the pieces.
However the third set, the Fantasy
one is much larger and you do need a lot of room for it.

The chess board we recommend
for the Camelot, Roman or Viking has 2 inch squares and an inch
border, making it 18 inches square, and costs only £39.
The Fantasy set needs a larger chess board, one with 2 1/2 inch
squares. It has a two inch boarder round it, making it 24 inches
square and costs £54.
We feel that these particular chess boards compliment our chess
sets beautifully. They are resin based and strong.
The 18" board has an embossed Tudor Rose design, while the
24" board has a diamond pattern.
The bases are covered with a green baize to protect any surface
they are placed on.
We don't recommend using a smaller sized board as the chess pieces
tend to look cramped. Using a board with large enough squares,
means that there is room for you to pick each piece up and move
it easily.
